CHICAGO — Customizable furniture company Interior Define has launched a new custom upholstery program called Skylar which features casual flange-cushion details, flared arms and soft cushions.

Skylar is available as a loveseat with other options that include a two-seat sofa, a three-seat sofa, a sectional with or without a chaise and an ottoman. Pricing starts at $1,395 for a loveseat, with a five-piece U-shaped sectional retailing for $5,795.

Interior Define’s Creative Director Ben Reynaert offers some suggestions for how the new Skylar can work in modern, traditional and smaller settings.

“For a modern mix, customize your Skylar piece with a deep hued, hardworking fabric like performance vintage plush velvet in a bold color like Juniper which features a soft feel, striated variance and stain repellent technology,” said Reynaert. “Because of the beautiful flared arm detail, I recommend pairing with an expressive, more organic piece like Subtle Constellations by Iris Lahnhardt which features dramatic brushstrokes and Interior Define’s streamlined polished brass Noah floor lamp.”

For an updated traditional look, Reynaert suggests pairing Interior Define’s Randolph hand-knotting rug with a Skylar sofa that’s been customized with an extra deep cushion and left-facing chaise sectional and finishing the look with the Kennedy lamp from Interior Define.

“Since all our sofa collections can be customized in incremental lengths and depths, Skylar can be specified in a smaller length for smaller spaces,” Reynaert added. “I recommend using a pair of glass globe wall sconces to free up space on tables and provide a chic glow. Our Greer side table also is great for drinks and can be moved around as needed.”
