HIGH POINT – At this week’s High Point Market, Nicole Curits – the HGTV star of Rehab Addict Rescue – debuted the second and third series to her licensed rug collection with the rug manufacturer Nourison and joined the showroom for a meet and greet with attendees.

Series one of Curtis’s collection, 57 Grand, launched at the Las Vegas Market in January and features machine-washable rugs with printed antique patterns. The second and third series made their first appearance this week along with Curtis herself.

In designing this collection, Curtis said she found it important that her designs were ones she could picture featuring in the houses that she restores. Many of the rugs she has featured on her show are one-of-a-kind antiques; however, her clients loved them and wanted replicas or similar designs, making her collection with Nourison a perfect solution for the demand.

“It was very import to me that I do a washable line,” Curtis said. “I had a cleaning business for 10 years and was raised to clean; it is in who I am. But it was also incredibly important that this line was affordable. Design doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, it should be comfortable and lived in, warm and inviting.”

The washable rugs can fit in a standard home washing machine up to the 5-by-7-foot size and can be taken to a commercial washer for bigger sizes. Series two and three have a more contemporary feel but still follow the vintage charm in the designs. Some rugs in the April debut feature patterns from vintage tiles, geometric shapes and traditional bohemian aesthetics.

Curtis said that she is not done designing housewares and, in the future, could see herself entering the lighting category. New episodes to Rehab Addict Rescue air next month on HGTV and will showcase some items from her new rug line, along with a vanity line through Greentouch Home that launches in two months.
