Hall of Fame Foundation opens nominations for inductees

HIGH POINT — The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame has opened nominations for the inductees in the Class of 2022.

All members of the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation are eligible to nominate and to second a nomination.

“Share with us the great leader that you know, the best of the best, who deserves to be recognized with induction into the Hall of Fame and whose legacy should be memorialized at our new home,” said Caroline Hipple, president of the Hall of Fame board.

During the five-month selection process, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee considers a list of individuals to determine who most exemplifies enduring excellence, superior accomplishments, innovation and creativity, and philanthropic generosity of their time, talents and resources. The final selection is determined by a points-based system, received and verified by the Foundation’s accounting firm, Sharrard McGee.

To qualify for consideration, the individual must conduct business in the United States, have served in the industry for at least 15 years, have created a legacy as a positive influence and champion of the industry, should have achieved the pinnacle of their careers and be a least 60 years old.  For posthumous nominations, the individual must have been deceased for at least 12 months prior to the date of the nomination.

Members may submit nominations by Feb. 1, and all nominations must be seconded in writing by another foundation member. Nomination forms and lists of current members, previous nominees and inductees are available on the foundation website. Members may also obtain printed copies of the documents by calling (336) 882-5900.

The completed nomination package must be postmarked no later than Feb. 1, 2022, and sent to American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation, 202 Neal Place Suite 101, High Point, N.C.  27262.

New inductees will be honored at the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Induction Celebration on Oct. 23 during the fall High Point Market.
