What’s The Texas Chainsaw House?

The Texas Chainsaw House is currently located in Kingsland, Texas, USA, and they are present on the grounds of the famous “The Antlers Hotel.” According to reports, the 1900s Victorian house was first featured in the “Texas Chain Saw Massacre” as Leatherface’s home and the family he had, which was cannibalistic. After some time, it was moved back to this location from Williamson County in the year 1998.

The house, a dilapidated farmhouse, originally sat on Quick Hill Road during the July to August 1973 filming of the movie.

For those who have no idea, the house was cut into 6 pieces in 1998, so it could be moved. It was reassembled and restored to its original condition by Anthony Mayfield, a master carpenter, on behalf of an investor couple in Austin, Texas, USA.

The house was a pattern book house, which was ordered from a catalog and assembled on site from a package of materials brought by a wagon from a local lumber company.

Some information on the internet suggests that the house was probably built between 1908 and 1910.
