Rove Concepts new vegan fabric, shown here in the Strato color, is machine washable in cold water and resistant to cracking and discoloration.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Rove Concepts, a direct-to-consumer, modern furniture company based in western Canada, has added a new sustainable fabric to its collection called Venice Vegan suede.
The fabric is composed of more than 50% recycled polyester and 5% spandex which results in an eco-friendly and cruelty-free alternative that’s made to last, according to the company.
“Unlike genuine leather, this high-quality vegan suede is machine washable in cold water, making it low maintenance and family friendly,” the company said in a statement.
The fabric is also resistant to cracking, fraying and discoloration, the company said, since it consists of millions of tightly woven synthetic fibers that are treated to be more water and stain proof than natural suede. Venice Vegan suede is also OKEO-TEX certified, meaning it is free of formaldehyde and other harmful substances.
The fabric is available in Caspian, Chiffon, Cider, Latte, Sage, Sepia and Strato colors and can be used on pieces in collections from Rove Concepts including Luca, Arya, Porter, Angelo, Aubrey, Mia and Nova as well as on the Ophelia and Mikkel beds.
