The former CEO of Twinstar Home has left the company to join Luminex candle & fragrance company as its new CEO. Lori Gonzales took office on Monday, Jan. 16, and has more than 25 years of experience in the consumer products industry.

As one of the largest U.S. manufacturers of candles and home fragrance products, global brand Luminex HD&F was formed in 2016 when PartyLite, a direct-selling home décor and fragrance brand, combined with Candle-lite, a wholesaler of candles that was founded in 1840, to form Luminex HD&F.

“Those of you that know me well can appreciate my love for home fragrance products to create a spa experience wherever you are,” Gonzales wrote in her LinkedIn announcement about her new job. “I’m delighted to have joined the team, and am looking forward to driving growth and continuing the legacy for years to come.”

Gonzales spent almost six years as CEO of Twin Star Home, a furniture and electric fireplace company. Prior to that, she spent almost 20 years at Jarden (now Newell Brands), a Fortune 500 global consumer products company with such subsidiaries as Coleman, Rubbermaid and Yankee Candle.

“As an entrepreneurial turnaround business leader for Fortune 500 brands, and CEO for private equity portfolio companies, Lori’s experience spans strategy development, P&L management, consumer intelligence & marketing, trade/retail management, product development, ecommerce and direct to consumer, deal sourcing & integration, supply chain, manufacturing & far East supplier development,” the company wrote on the Luminex LinkedIn page.

“Lori has a deep knowledge and expertise from both the board and operating point of view… A high-energy, driven and creative executive, Lori is known as a pragmatic, collaborative leader, who cultivates relationships built on transparency and trust, empowers teams, and keeps them focused on priorities with the biggest impact to bottom line.”

Gonzales received her bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her Masters in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. She began her career at Fiskars, a global consumer product company, in sales and marketing roles. She has also served as an independent director on the board of Wastequip’s parent holding company, Patriot Container Corporation, a North American manufacturer of waste and recycling equipment.
