Long-time industry sales representative, Kenneth Taylor, dies at 89

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Co-founder of Taylors in Dallas Market Center, Kenneth David Taylor died Jan. 7 at age 89.

Taylor was born in Oklahoma City, the son of Kenneth and Helen Taylor. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Business in 1955 and went on to spend his entire career in the home décor industry.

He, along with his former wife Mary Murray Taylor, founded Taylors in the Dallas Market Center in 1979. Their sales agency represented many décor companies in six states and still does, now under the ownership of Jane Murray.

Taylor was inducted into ARTS Awards Academy of Achievement in 1999, and he mentored many sales professionals, including his son-in-law Tim Bergman, who is also an ARTS Award winner.

Taylor is survived by his four children and six grandchildren.
