Juniper restructures, changes leadership | Home Accents Today

LAS VEGAS — JuniperMarket CEO Bill Furlong and President Eric Dean have stepped down from  the B2B platform run by International Market Centers under a significant restructuring.

The platform, which launched with much fanfare in January 2021 as an online marketplace and a year-round complement to IMC’s physical trade shows, has been streamlined to focus on efforts that strictly support its physical marketplace, IMC said in a statement.

Dorothy Belshaw, president of the Gift division at IMC, will oversee the transition with the “go-forward leadership team,” IMC said.

“After a thorough review of our Juniper business, we are taking steps to streamline our digital product offering and focus on solutions that most directly support our physical market business,” the statement read.

“In line with this, we will focus our digital efforts on development of a robust mobile app for buyers and lead generation tool connected to our market websites. This reframed strategy will better connect buyers and sellers and create new business opportunities for our customers year-round. In connection with this shift, we made the very difficult decisions to reduce the size of our Juniper team. Changes that impact our people are never easy and today we are saying goodbye to many talented and dedicated team members.”

The company did not elaborate on how many Juniper employees besides Furlong and Dean were laid off.

In a LinkedIn post, Furlong said he had stepped down as CEO and has transitioned to a role as senior advisor through the end of the year.

He wrote, “Juniper announced layoffs today impacting many people in the company. So many of the people working at Juniper were among the best people I’ve ever worked with. Smart. Dedicated. Passionate. Creative. Driven. For anyone looking to fill an open role, you can have confidence that Juniper has had a high bar for talent and a highly skilled team. Please consider them for any opportunities you have.”

Before serving as president of Juniper, Dean was CEO of the digital agency Whereoware, which he founded in 2000. He remains chairman of the company, according to his LinkedIn profile.
