HIGH POINT, N.C.—Hooker Furniture unveiled a suite of pink accent furniture at High Point Market yesterday, the result of a new licensing agreement with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, one of the leading breast cancer organizations.
The line of roughly 17 SKUs includes items like benches, small tables and consoles in arrange of rosy hues with affirming names like the Pink Power Bench, the Hope Chest and the Sisterhood Credenza. A portion of the sales proceeds will go to the foundation.
“This collection is about celebration and remembrance,” said Mike Harris, president of Hooker casegoods and upholstery. “We look to honor the journeys of all those affected by breast cancer; celebrating the triumphs, revering the battles and commemorating those that are no longer with us. Many of Hooker Furnishings’ employees, former employees, friends and family members have had their lives forever changed by breast cancer and it is a cause that is near and dear to our company.”
During a brief unveiling ceremony in the Hooker showroom in High Point, Hooker presented representatives from Susan G. Komen with an initial check for $10,000.
Many home furnishings executives industry recognized Pink Out Sunday this past weekend by wearing something pink in recognition of all those touched by breast cancer.
