HIGH POINT — Nominations for the class of 2023 for induction into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame are now open.  All members of the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation are eligible to nominate and to second a nomination.

“People often ask why a certain individual hasn’t been considered, and the answer generally is that they have not been nominated,” said Karen McNeill, president of the Hall of Fame board of directors. “The Selection Committee welcomes the nominations of qualified individuals from across all categories and roles in our industry. We are ever on the search for leaders who have impacted our industry with their creativity, innovation, philanthropy, and their ability to initiate change.”

During an intensive five-month selection process, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee considers a list of individuals to determine who most exemplifies enduring excellence, superior accomplishments, innovation and creativity, and philanthropic generosity of their time, talents and resources.

The final selection is determined by a points-based system, with the ballots are received and verified by the Foundation’s accounting firm, Sharrard McGee.

To qualify for consideration, the individual must conduct business in the United States, have served in the industry for at least 15 years, have created a legacy as a positive influence and champion of the industry, and should have achieved the pinnacle of their careers and directionally trend to 60 years old.  For posthumous nominations, the individual must have been deceased for at least 12 months prior to the date of the nomination.

Members may submit nominations by Feb. 15. Nomination forms and lists of current members, previous nominees and inductees are available on the Foundation website. Members may also obtain printed copies of the documents by calling (336) 882-5900.

A print or a 300-dpi digital photo of the candidate must be enclosed; all nominations must be seconded, in writing, by another Foundation member; and the completed nomination package must be postmarked no later than Feb. 15 and sent to American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation, 202 Neal Place, Suite 101, High Point, N.C. 27262.

New inductees will be honored at the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Induction Celebration on Oct. 15 during the High Point Market.
