LOS ANGELES – Chelsea House is launching Kristi Nelson for Chelsea House at High Point Market this April. The exclusive collection designed by Kristi Nelson, principal KMNelson Design, encompasses furniture, lighting, accessories and mirrors inspired by history and travel.

Joining Chelsea House’s roster of designers, the LA-based designer’s new collection showcases the diverse periods and places that have influenced her eye, tastes and lifestyle philosophy. Nelson’s philosophy on style is that its more interesting “when it mixes contrasts like sleek with organic, old with new, soft with edgy, to make uniquely personal statements,” she said.

The luxe, laid-back collection is suited to today’s style-blending interiors featuring four globally influenced design themes: Contemporary Neoclassical conjures visions of Paris, Rome and Manhattan. Art Deco Influences is a nod to Nelson’s favorite London hotels. Grotto is a mini homage to the fantastical grottoes of Tuscan gardens. Nature’s Inspirations is informed by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Los Angeles lifestyle, evidenced through contemporary organic forms and textured finishes.

“I’m thrilled that my first licensing deal is with Chelsea House. As a brand, they have a very focused point-of-view that puts a fresh spin on classic and contemporary décor,” said Nelson. “It’s crisp, fun, fashion-forward, yet sophisticated.”

The select pieces will be on display in the Chelsea House showroom at 200 Hamilton Street in High Point from March 31 to April 6, and its launch will be held April 3, 4-7 p.m.
