The BADG wall mural in Brooklyn celebrates Black History Month.

The Black Artists + Designers Guild has partnered with Lamar Advertising to create  a wall mural in Brooklyn, N.Y., in celebration of Black History Month.

BADG created the 20-by-40-foot mural, which promotes the work of Black artists, makers and designers with a composition representing pride, strength and accomplishment. BADG’s signature colors are represented by common vegetal dyes in African textiles.

BADG said it intends for the mural to inspire deeper connection and collaboration within the Black creative community.

“Through this collaboration, we set out to create a visual representation of Black imagination and collective action,” said BADG founder Malene Barnett. “This mural entitled ‘Futures Facing’ represents our BADG manifesto, the foundation for our action-oriented membership as we drive the industry toward equitable and inclusive spaces.”

In addition to the wall mural, which is located on the corner of Berry Street and North 12th in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, the artwork will be displayed on Lamar digital billboards across the country throughout February.
