ACKWORTH Ga. – The Harmon collection of rugs designed by Kate Lester in conjunction with Jaipur Rugs, won a silver award in the recent 16th annual International Design Awards.

The collection won in the category “Home Interior Product – Textiles/Floor Coverings.”

Founded in 2007, the International Design Awards exist to recognize, celebrate and promote exceptional design visionaries and discover emerging worldwide talent in five disciplines–architecture, interior, product, graphic and fashion design.

“The design and details were always paramount to me and everyone while curating this collection,” said Kate Lester, founder and CEO of Kate Lester Interiors in Southern California. “It really is an honor to have recognition from such a prestigious organization like the IDA. I am humbled to be in the company of so many exceptional design visionaries who are on this list.”

Inspired by her fondness for antique rugs and a modern aesthetic, Lester pulled from her own archive of vintage pieces to create the Harman collection with Jaipur Living. Images of actual vintage rugs are digitally printed on the power-loomed pieces.

“Our design collaborations are so special because they allow us to venture into different aesthetics and bridge design ideals to create something beautiful,” said Asha Chaudhary, Jaipur Living CEO. “Kate Lester and our product development team created something so eye-catching, versatile, and interior friendly.”

Lester is the creative director and CEO of Kate Lester Interiors & Kate Lester HOME, which includes two retail stores.
