Happy New Year!

The home furnishings industry always hits the ground running in the new year, beginning with the Dallas Total Home & Gift Show, which gets underway today. There are lots of home décor events scheduled, along with revamped temporary spaces, expanded educational events and plenty of new home décor products, of course. Organizer Dallas Market Center is promising to break records in terms of the number of new exhibitors and collections.

One of the biggest events in the home décor world is the ARTS awards. The black-tie event will take place on Friday evening at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. A preview party will be held on Thursday at 5:30 in the WTC 10 Atrium. You can check out the finalists and the presenters ahead of time and be sure to tune into Home Accents Today online and through social media for up-to-the minute information about the winners.

If it’s January, it’s time to talk lighting. Lightovation begins Jan. 10 and runs through Jan. 13 (a new date pattern for the show). We give you a sneak peek of some of the introductions debuting in Dallas at Lightovation next week, as well as at Atlanta Market.
