Rug Company taps Cogan to chair the board

NEW YORK – The Rug Company, a manufacturer of luxury and contemporary rug designs, has named Andrew B. Cogan as chairman of the company’s board of directors. Cogan joins the board effective January 2022.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Andrew as chairman of The Rug Company,” said James Seuss, CEO. “His leadership, business expertise and industry knowledge are great assets to our company and board of directors.”

Cogan is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Harvard College where he majored in Social Studies. He currently serves as director of the American Woodmark Corp. and Sonneman, and serves on the external advisory board of the Master in Design Engineering Program at Harvard University.

Prior to joining The Rug Company, Cogan served more than 30 years as the chairman and CEO of Knoll Inc., an international furniture brand for residential, contract and hospitality interiors, where he helped engineer the sale of Knoll Inc. to Herman Miller in a $1.8 billion transaction.

Erica Crawford, editorial assistant for Furniture Today, is a recent graduate of the University of Iowa, with a degree in English and a writing certificate in publishing. In addition to bringing her writing talent to the editorial team, Erica will add her late-Millennial perspective.
