HIGH POINT – Phillips Collection will hold events with guest host Patti Carpenter and designer Barrie Livingstone during High Point Market.

The first event, called “Celebrating 20 years of Living Life Colorfully,” is scheduled for Saturday, April 2 from 4 – 6 p.m. The event will celebrate Patti Carpenter, global trend ambassador and principal of Carpenter + Company and her 20 years of working with the Phillips Collection.

“Time certainly flies when you are doing what you love and with people you love,” said Carpenter. “I began these years with Mark and Julie Phillips, who I call my godparents in this industry. I gave my very first trend presentation for the Phillips Collection in the early 2000’s, when we had a licensed collection of ceramic and lacquer together.”

Carpenter said the relationship deepened when they traveled to Guatemala, Vietnam and Thailand and developed a collection that also included ceramics from Nicaragua and Peru.

“We share our passions and values of working with and supporting artisans in ways that are mindful of our planet. I consider them my family and I am so happy and blessed by our long standing relationship, in this industry and beyond. I can never thank them enough for welcoming and supporting me through these years,” she added.

Joining Patti at the event will be Phillips Collection CEO and President Mark Phillips. The duo will as share insights about the evolution of their brands and what goes into sourcing unique collections on a global scale.

“I am excited to celebrate Patti’s decades of experience in the furnishings industry,” said Phillips. “We have always shared a passion for luxury and products, color and design and each of us takes inspiration from nature and the world around us.”

On Tuesday, April 5, Barrie Livingstone, interior designer, author and retailer of House of Barrie will be in the Phillips Collection showroom for a discussion about Navigating Luxury. The presentation is designed as a way to bring the design and trade communities together for a hybrid experience.

This event will feature an inside look at Phillips Collection’s 400,000 square foot High Point warehouse facility, while Phillips and Livingstone discuss the complexities of navigating luxury, and importing and exporting luxury goods.

“Navigating luxury is probably the single most important thing I do as a designer,” Livingstone said. “Successful interior designers understand that perceived value is everything. Perceived value evaluates to quality of construction, look of finish and proportion – all things that Phillips Collection knows intimately in designing their luxury products. When you have those three elements in your design, you have everything. I can’t wait to work with Mark Phillips on this talk and to share insights on how we navigate luxury.”

All guests are also invited to visit Phillips Collection’s warehouse located at 916 Finch Ave. Free shuttles are offered to transport attendees to the facility.

The Phillips Collection showroom is located in IHFC C-202.
