Hooker Furnishings appoints Cowan to lead sales of Legacy Brands

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Hooker Furnishings has promoted Matt Cowan as executive vice president of sales for Hooker Legacy Brands.

In his new position, Cowan will be responsible for sales strategy and management, including coordinating territory development, negotiating customer agreements and finalizing pricing decisions. He will report to Anne Smith, chief administrative officer and president of domestic upholstery, and Mike Harris, president of Hooker case goods and upholstery.

“Matt’s decades of sales experience with Hooker truly brings an impressive range of knowledge to this role that will benefit our customers and associates,” said Smith.

“Matt has done a tremendous job leading our sales team, driving our Legacy Brand initiatives, and helping the business units understand the needs of our customers. This promotion better reflects the contribution he has made and continues to make in our organization,” said Harris.

Most recently, Cowan was the vice president of sales for Hooker Furniture, a subsidiary of the Hooker brands. Prior to joining Hooker in 1990 as a sales representative, Cowan was a rep with Riverside Furniture and then Universal Furniture. He resides in Dallas, Texas.
