HIGH POINT – The Heritage Home Group Charitable Trust has donated $40,000 to WithIt, a women’s leadership development network for the home and furnishings industries, to support scholarships for students with majors which apply to the home industries.

“We greatly appreciate the donation from HHG’s Charitable Trust,” said Paris Gholston, WithIt’s vice president of scholarships and Mattress Recycling Council customer relations and compliance coordinator. “The increased amount this year allows us to expand the number of women receiving scholarships. We hope the industry will share this opportunity with their contacts in education.”

The scholarships go to students majoring in accessory design, architectural design, forestry, furniture design, industrial design, textile design, graphic design, interior architecture and marketing with a design or furniture minor.

WithIt, the women’s leadership development network for the home and furnishings industries, annually grants scholarships to students and professional women in the industry and plans to award 10 to 15 scholarships to students this year. The deadline for the 2022 scholarship applications is March 1.

Professional women in the home and furnishings industry who are pursuing a degree, certificate or professional certification during 2022 can apply for a scholarship at any time during the year. Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis.

Along with a tuition scholarship, students receive an all-expense-paid trip to WithIt’s annual professional conference.

WithIt’s Scholarship Foundation (501-C3), founded in 1998, has awarded more than $187,000 in tuition scholarships to 80 qualified young women and men in universities across the U.S., with 98% of scholarship recipients who have graduated now working in the industry.
